Six basic types of bankruptcy cases are provided for under the Bankruptcy Code, each of which is discussed here.  The cases are traditionally given the names of the chapters of the bankruptcy code that describe them. We’ve all heard of Chapter 7 and Chapter 11. This will explain these two types plus more.
